Zello is a communication application that allows users to connect with others in real-time through high-quality voice streaming. It offers features such as contacts availability and text status, public and private channels for up to 6000 users, and the option to map a hardware PTT (Push-To-Talk) button. It also supports Bluetooth headset use on selected phones, voice history, call alerts, images, push notifications, and live location tracking (available with Zello Work service only). The app can be used over WiFi, 2G, 3G, or 4G mobile data.
Zello uses its own low-latency push-to-talk protocol and is not compatible with other similar apps such as Voxer, Sprint Direct Connect, or AT&T Enhanced PTT. The Zello Android client offers a free public service, as well as the option to use the ZelloWork cloud service or a private Zello Enterprise Server.
The Zello team is constantly working to improve the app, so users can expect frequent updates. If there are any questions or issues, users can reach out to the support team via email at [email protected].
